How to Install nokVAULT on your computer?
This is an online guide to installing nokVAULT. If you wish, you can download the PDF User Guide, which includes detailed instructions for the nokVAULT installation procedure.
You must be logged in as the main Administrator / Owner of the computer in order to install nokVAULT. Ensure that there are no other programs running before you being the nokVAULT installation.
You will be prompted this window when you generate nokVAULT from your Software Section and if you are generating nokVAULT from a nokVAULT_installer.exe file, typically a Shareware or Affiliate website.
Select "Save File".
Double-click the nokVAULT installation icon.
If the installer detects a non-complaint operating system or an incompatible file system, an error message will appear. If your system is compatible, the Installation Wizard will take you through the setup process step by step.
Select “OK” from the “Open Executable File?” window. This will allow installation of nokVAULT as a trusted program.
Language Selection
The first step is the language selection screen. Select the desired language for your installation.
Enable any Security Software firewall like Zone Alarm or similar and any antivirus system like NOD32 you may have installed on your computer to “Allow” nokVAULT as a trusted program, in order to complete the installation process.
Welcome Wizard
The next screen is the Welcome Installation Wizard, click “Next” to continue.
Request License Password (e-Mail Optional)
There are (2) methods for requesting your License Password. You may choose to have your License Password e-mailed to you or copy it from a temporary browser window.
METHOD: 1
Check the box “e-Mail my License Password” in order to have your License Password e-mailed to you.
METHOD 2:
Uncheck the box “e-Mail my License Password” in order to view and copy it from a temporary browser window.
Select “Next” and you will be automatically re-directed to your unique License Password from a temporary browser window. You will have 10 minutes to view and copy or print your License Password required to complete the installation process.
End User License Agreement
To review the License Agreement, use the scroll bar to scroll to the bottom of the License Agreement, then select "I accept the terms” and click "Next" to proceed.
Password Advisory Agreement
To review the Password Advisory, use the scroll bar to scroll to the bottom of the License Agreement, then select "I accept the terms” and click "Next" to proceed.
License Password
The Serial Number and the License Password will need to be provided. Both numbers were included with the software when downloaded or purchased and we either e-mailed to you or provided to you via temporary browser window. Your License Password is a ten-digit number and the Serial Number is a twelve-digit number. The License Password is the universal password, and can also be used to access nokVAULT in the event you forget your personal Access Password.
Access Password
You can choose to create a new Access Password as a personal password that is easy to remember. The Access Password can be changed at any time after the installation process is complete.
Default Encryption Setup
The next step configures the default encryption method. Both options, AES and BLOWFISH are public, peer-reviewed algorithms guaranteeing a high level of security. A Key Size must also be selected. The larger the key is, generally the more secure the encryption will be.
Your Key must be the length indicated in parenthesis located next to “Default Key” (16 characters required in the figure below). If you would like to see the string being typed, rather than asterisks, unmark the "Hide characters" check box.
Completing the Installation
Select "Finish" to finalize the installation.
The following progress window will indicate your nokVAULT installation has been completed:
In order to finalize the installation of nokVAULT, your computer system must be reinitialized. Click “OK’ and your system will RESTART Widows automatically.
After your system reboots and you’ve logged back into Windows, the nokVAULT icon will appear on your desktop. To ensure your purchased software limits are removed, select “Buy or Activate” when prompted the Purchase or Activate nokVAULT window and follow the steps to activate your software.
