Should I backup my files before I protect them with nokVAULT?
We strongly recommend that you backup your files, regardless of what you do with them and especially if you plan to encrypt them with any kind of security software.
It is ESSENTIAL that you backup all files that you want to protect with nokVAULT. This is very important if you plan to protect your files with the Secure Area feature. If something corrupts you operating system, like a virus, then all your files on that system that were in the Secure Area may be lost.
In any case, backing up your files is important as you may lose them due to computer or laptop theft, regardless of protection applied to your files. The good news is that your Secure Area files are 100% safe with nokVAULT even if your computer is stolen or hacked.
