nokVAULT Secure Area is a much safer solution for protecting your files than just encrypting files. Files in the Secure Area will become invisible in your operating system when nokVAULT is closed. nokVAULT must be in open mode in order to add a file to the Secure Area.

Due to the highest security applied by nokVAULT when adding files to the Secure Area PLEASE NOTE: IT IS IMPERATIVE that you backup your files before protecting them in the Secure Area. The Secure Area was primarily designed for highly security conscious users who would rather lose their files than risk any chance of having them exposed to anyone in the event of computer theft or hacker attacks. Secure Area files are untraceable by anyone or by any utility when nokVAULT is closed. In case of a corruption to your operating system for reasons unrelated to nokVAULT, although vary rare, such files may be permantely lost. For highly sensitive data, adding a file to the Secure Area will encrypt the file, then using proprietary algorithms and techniques, the file will remain untraceable and undetectable by anyone using the computer or by any utility trying to access the file.
 
How to add a file to the Secure Area:
1) Right-click the file or folder you wish to add to the Secure Area
2) Select "Add to nokVAULT Secured Area" from the nokVAULT sub-menu

Once you have added a file or folder to the Secure Area, the protected files will have a large red "lock" icon superimposed on them.

Secured files will also appear in the Secure Area section within the nokVAULT main menu. The Secure Area section displays all secured files by name and original path.
